Velliangri Hill Station - Tamilnadu

Velliangri hills also Known as the “Kailash of South” is a beautiful place very famous for lord Shiva temple. This stunning place is situated in Western Ghats surrounding the regions of Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu and Palakkad in Kerala. Located at an altitude of 6,000 feet above sea level, Velliangri Mountain is a popular tourist destination and offers plenty of time for trekking. The 8km hike is truly mesmerizing and the beautiful view of the mountains and surroundings is mesmerizing. You have to cross seven hills to reach the summit where you will encounter a magnificent panoramic view.

Velliangri hill is also spiritually important as it is a Shiva Temple, where the deity is worshiped in the form of Swayambhu lingam. The temple is located under a natural cave. During the annual pilgrimage season from February to May, Velliangri Hill will swarm with hundreds of devotees. The rich natural flora and fauna and the dense forests that are home to elephants, bears, leopards and wild buffaloes fascinate tourists and nature lovers alike.
