Ooty is a popular hill station which is also known as Udhagamandalam and Ootacamund. This is a queen of Northern hill stations and a town located Nilgiris district of Indian state of Tamilnadu. During the colonial days this town was used to be popular summer and weekend gateway for Britishers situated at an altitude of 2,240mt above the sea level. It is a popular tourist’s destination in the country as it is blessed with natural beauty.
Ooty draws much number of tourists every year having soaring peaks, lofty mountains, great lakes, dense forests, miles of tea gardens and sprawling grasslands. This entire land is a picturesque and having many numbers of tourist’s attractions and an added attraction for the tourists is the mountain train journey on a ratchet and pinion track. The tea estates located here made this land popular and one can notice a marvelous change in vegetation here. Several areas of Ooty are preserved like that of a sanctuary so as to conserve the beauty of the nature. As the land is located on the top, the climate of this town is very cool and crisp that attracts many pleasant walks from all over the world.
