The history of Goripalayam Dargah dates back to the 17th century when Hazrat Sulthan Syed Ibrahim Shaheed Badusha came to Madurai when King Thirumalai Nayak was ruling the city. Hazrat Sultan Syed Ibrahim Shaheed Badusha is said to have performed miracles and had good relations with the local people. By noticing that the king welcomed Hazrat Sultan Syed Ibrahim Shaheed Badusha to spread the principles of Islam and also to build a worship place.
