Kodai Lake

A star shaped lake for cycling, bike rides, horse-riding and pedestrian walks. Boating through the fog settling on the lake is the favorite of all tourists.

Kodai Lake is one of the important tourist destinations in Kodaikanal. This lake is a man made one and is developed by British people. The overview of the lake highlights the star shape surrounded by lush greens. The lake is situated at an elevation of 2285m above sea level and has an average depth of 3.0m. Within a three km from the Kodaikanal bus stand, this attractive lake is located.

Now Kodai Lake has become a prominent tourist spot at Kodaikanal. In order to attract tourists lots of activities like cycling, boating, horse riding and lovely parks has been set up around the lake. Tourists can also go fishing, but only after obtaining permission from Inspector of Fisheries. There are even luxury boats similar to the Kashmiri Shikara are available. Due to its incredible beauty, Kodai Lake attracts lots of tourists from all over the world. Never miss this splendid place while visiting Kodaikanal.

Dolphin’s nose & Echo Point

Trekking towards the Dolphin's nose amongst the bad roads and monkeys jumping all over, Echo Point has its way at the far end.

The mountain responding back with the echo of voice is not the same just in movies but still is a wonderful experience. Dolphin’s nose and the echo point will surely trigger your adventurous spirit. These mountains have one of the best natural sceneries and a look down from the tip of these mountains will cast chill on every nerve.

Kurinjiandavar Temple

Located at 4 km from the lake with Lord Muruga as the deity. The temple is gives a clear view of Palani hills and Kodaikanal town. The flowers bloom once in 12 years.

One of the prominent tourist destination at Kodaikanal is the Kurinjiandavar temple. This temple is ancient and is dedicated to Lord Murugan. “Kurunji” in tamil means mountain, as Lord Muruga is the Lord of Mountains and the nearby region this temples is named as the Kurunjiandavar temple.

Green Valley View/Suicide Point

With more than 5000 ft steep drop from this point, this place is been protected by valley around. The cross at the top of the mountain and monkeys draw attraction.

The green valley most commonly known as the suicide point is one of the daring rock point in Kodaikanal. The mountain is 5000 ft deep and is infamous for the numerous suicides that had been attempted here. In order to prevent suicides the government had protected the mountain with fences.

Devil's Kitchen

It’s a deep hidden ravine with dark gutters. People who have fallen prey to this "devil's trap" have not come back. Kindly, watch your step!

Guna Cave

After the Kollywood movie Guna, this cave was amongst people talks. It is a very steep cave that will suffer a free fall. Visitors are not much allowed.

Guna cave is one of the very steepest and slippery cave in Kodaikanal. Tourist must need special permission to enter this cave as it is too dangerous. Children are not allowed inside the cave. This cave became very famous after the Kollywood film “Guna” which has been shot here.

Silver Cascade

Splashing waterfall before 4 kms from Kodaikanal. Travelling among the eucalyptus trees and having a shower in the cold water will be refreshing.

Sliver cascade is a top most refreshing spot Enroute to Kodaikanal. Most of the tourists take small recess at this waterfalls and enjoy the ambiance. The water from this falls resembles a silver cascade and so it is named as the “silver cascade waterfalls”. Take you friends and family to this lovely waterfalls and enjoy to the core.
