St. Thomas Mount Church

Among all the churches in Tamil Nadu, St. Thomas Church is the most famous one. Thomas, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ, is believed to have preached and was martyred here in the first century AD.
This makes it one of the oldest Churches in India that is built in the Gothic style, the church has stunning architecture with intricate carvings, arches and columns. The church celebrates many festivals throughout the year and the most significant festival is St. Thomas Day which is celebrated on July 3.
