The Church located near the Rock Fort Theppakulam based on French architecture, is the oldest one of its kind. This Church of Our Lady of Lourdes is the replica of Basilica of Lourdes, the world famous place of pilgrimage in South France.
St. Lourdes Church was founded by French missionaries who came to Trichy during the colonial period. The church was built in honor of Our Lady of Lourdes, the name given after the Virgin Mary in Lourdes, France. St. Lourdes Church is a place of worship and spiritual comfort for locals and tourists.
