The coastal resort town of Mamallapuram in Tamil Nadu hosts a group of monuments that are together regarded as one of the ‘Seven Wonders of Tamil Nadu.’ The historical importance of these structures has been recognized by the UNESCO who has inscribed the monuments as a World Heritage Site. 40 ancient temples and monuments dot the sites.
